The History
Birth of the Kingdom (BE)
Long ago, there were eight Tribes of cats. Each one had its own special kind of magic, its own culture, and its own territory. There, of course, were four more Tribes, but they were so small and scattered, they had no land or cohesive unit. These Tribes were constantly at war with each other, each one seeking to wipe the others out to be the sole ruler of the land. Kingdoms and confederations rose around the cats in the north and the east. A kingdom of birds led by eagles and a confederation of fox and cougar clans, respectively. They came together in an alliance to destroy the magic-gifted cats, sensing their weakness in their division. Each Tribe was powerful, but between fighting each other and their enemies, they were weak and splintered.
Thus, the heads of each ruling family came together and set down the constitution for a kingdom of cats where each Tribe would remain separate, but would also be united politically against any threats. Once together, the new Council of Cats led the Tribes against the eagles, foxes, and cougars, driving them off permanently. But the question arose soon after the surrender of their enemies. Who would rule?
Another agreement was reached. There would be kings and queens, but succession would be fair and equal to each Tribe. It would follow the order of their myth of creation. Thus, the first king was Lumin Sunstrider.
The Kingdom (Eras 1 - 10)
With Lumin Sunstrider as king, laws were set in place to mark physical and social boundaries between the Tribes. The capital of Unity of All Cats was also founded in the very center of the new kingdom with an area around it set aside as neutral grounds. The Tribes' lands were organized into provinces and at the end of Lumin's reign, he was succeeded by Night Shadowstalker, beginning the second ruler's reign of the 1st Era.
In the 10th Era, it was once again the turn of the Shadowstalkers to take charge. However, instead of picking the eldest child of the head family, the second eldest was chosen, as it was concurred that Abyss Shadowstalker would be too volatile to lead the kingdom reliably as queen. Dusk Shadowstalker was crowned Queen of the Kingdom of Cats that month and on the same night, Abyss committed a grave crime: murder. Abyss killed the mother of her and her sister and fled before justice could be wrought, disappearing for roughly three years.
Abyss's Rebellion (10th Era, 28 - 46)
When Abyss re-emerged, it was with a small army of rogues and outlaws, claiming to have slaughtered Solaris Sunstrider. They exposed the Sunstrider arena where all of them had been kept and demanded that the Sunstriders be brought to justice. Of course, they were ignored, as that would tip the delicate balance of the kingdom's power. Not only that, but they demanded that the borders between Tribes be brought down and Abyss be instated as queen.
War broke out and continued over the next eight years with Abyss's following only growing. It culminated and ended in Abyss raiding Unity and killing Dusk. When all seemed lost, a Skywalker appeared and rid the world of Abyss Shadowstalker, bringing peace, as without a leader, the roguish army fled into the mountains. He was revealed as Angelus Skywalker, blood relative to Cirrus Skywalker.
Now (46 - Present [49])
Angelus Skywalker, a previously unknown heir to the Skywalker family, took the throne after the death of Dusk Shadowstalker. He has done his part to undo everything that Abyss had achieved, setting things back to the way they were always meant to be. He is the current ruler.
